A new study by luxury jewellers Austen & Blake revealed the cities around the world where couples enjoy a post-proposal meal – and a glass of champagne – without breaking the bank.
The index assessed locations across various romantic factors, such as sunset scores, stargazing opportunities, and where couples can enjoy the most affordable meal out for two – along with a glass of champagne to toast to the milestone moment.
Taking top honours for budget-friendly bubbles is Seville, Spain, where a glass of champagne costs just £9.67 on average.
The Andalusian city was followed closely by New Orleans, USA, where a glass costs just slightly more at £10.01, while Porto, Portugal rounds out the top three at £11.50.
In Copenhagen, Denmark, a glass of fizz costs £12.64, while Barcelona, Spain, offers a similarly priced glass at £12.67.
The UK, namely Edinburgh, Scotland, features in fifth place, with a glass costing £13.00 on average.

Rounding out the list at number 10 is Sydney, Australia, where a glass of bubbly will set fizz connoisseurs back £14.01.
On the flip side, Bangkok in Thailand takes the top spot as the most expensive place to toast romantic beginnings and marriage proposals, with an average glass of champagne setting couples back £29.41 each.
A glass of fizz in New York costs a staggering £22.66, and £21.73 in Medellín, Colombia.
Unsurprisingly, London also has some of the world’s highest champagne costs, with an average glass costing around £17.
And though Bangkok may have been crowned the most costly city for champagne, it happens to be where couples can enjoy the world’s cheapest meal for two, at just £30.56.
Medellín in Colombia comes in close second at £31.38, followed by Shanghai, China at £37.81, Cape Town, South Africa, at £44.72 and Seville, Spain, at £45.32.
It comes as new research reveals exactly where in Europe you can enjoy as many glasses of Aperol Spritz as you want without burning a hole in your wallet.
