The father of an NYPD officer who was shot dead in a Manhattan skyscraper had a stroke after learning the horrific news.
Didarul Islam, 33, was working security at the midtown office building when he was shot dead by 27-year-old Shane Tamura.
His family told the New York Post that Islam’s pregnant wife was also so distraught Islam’s murder that she was taken to the hospital on Tuesday morning.
‘They are all crying,’ Islam’s cousin Muhammad Mainul Islam said.
‘There is no brother, only him. The family is really feeling a big problem. His wife had the doctor’s appointment. I heard one police officer from the precinct, she took [her] to the hospital.’
Islam, a father of two, was an immigrant from Bangladesh who had served as a police officer in New York City for 3 years.
‘His father went last night to see him,’ Islam’s cousin added. ‘When he heard the message he had a stroke, feeling bad. So he had a stroke so the hospital did not release him.’

Tamura killed three people in the lobby of the skyscraper -including NYPD officer Didarul Islam, a 36 year-old father of two

Shane Tamura, 27, was caught on chilling surveillance footage wearing a sport coat and button-down shirt while carrying a large M4 assault rifle into the skyscraper at 345 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan Monday evening

Three others – security guard Aland Etienne, Blackstone executive Wesley LePatner and Rudin firm employee Julia Hyman – were also killed when the gunman walked into 345 Park Avenue and opened fire in the lobby.
The shooting took place at a skyscraper that is home to the headquarters of both the NFL and Blackstone, one of the world’s largest investment firms, as well as other tenants.
After spraying bullets in the lobby, the gunman took the elevator to the 33rd floor, where real-estate management firm Rudin Management is based, and killed another person – Julie Hyman – before turning the gun on himself.
The Rudin family – a New York real estate dynasty – owns the building.
One of those injured is an NFL employee, commissioner Roger Goodell said in a letter to staff. The employee was reportedly seriously injured but is in stable condition at the hospital.
Officials believe the shooter, who drove to NYC from Las Vegas, was targeting the NFL offices but got on the wrong elevator and ended up on the 33rd floor.

Tamura’s motive for the massacre remains unclear as of Tuesday morning.
However he was found with a letter on his body indicating he had grievances with the NFL and its handling of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) after the rampage at 345 Park Avenue.
Tamura reportedly played competitive football in his younger years.
‘Terry Long football gave me CTE and it caused me to drink a gallon of antifreeze,’ Tamura wrote, according to CNN. ‘You can’t go against the NFL, they’ll squash you.’
The shooter was referring to former Pittsburgh Steeler Terry Long, who committed suicide by drinking antifreeze in 2006 after suffering from CTE.
‘Study my brain please I’m sorry Tell Rick I’m sorry for everything,’ the note read.
The gunman had a ‘documented mental health history,’ according to Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, but his motive was still unknown.
The shooting happened along Park Avenue, one the nation’s most recognized streets, and just blocks from Grand Central Terminal and Rockefeller Center.

It’s also less than a 15-minute walk from where UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed last December by a man who prosecutors say was angry over corporate greed.
President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he knows that area of Manhattan well.
‘I trust our Law Enforcement Agencies to get to the bottom of why this crazed lunatic committed such a senseless act of violence. My heart is with the families of the four people who were killed, including the NYPD Officer, who made the ultimate sacrifice,’ Trump posted on social media.
