Terrified commuters were forced to flee a New Jersey train station and others rushed to hospital after a fire broke out below one of the train cars.
Billowing smoke and flames sparked rush hour chaos at the Newport PATH station in Jersey City shortly after 6am on Monday morning.
The fire erupted below one of the train cars, Port Authority officials said.
At least 13 people required treatment for smoke inhalation at the scene, officials said. From there, nine were taken to hospital for further evaluation.
