Former UFC star Michael Bisping has asked fans for information about a serial killer after claiming that he was attacked in the 1990s.
Bisping responded to a story which had been posted on X in which a serial killer, who is currently imprisoned, had recalled how he broke into Bisping’s house in the 1990s and attempted to kill him.
In a video on X, Bisping stated that a man had arrived outside his house with a can of petrol or gasoline with the intention of burning his house down. Bisping added that when the man realised that he was talking to somebody on the phone he dropped the petrol or gasoline, pulled out a hammer and attempted to attack him.
Bisping, 46, said: ‘A story was put on Twitter the other day about some notorious serial killer in the north of England between the 1990s and the 2000s who apparently is now locked up in prison for rape and murder. He has been telling stories about the time he came to my house in the 1990s and tried to kill me.
‘The thing is, in the 1990s, around 1997, I lived in this little flat above a greengrocer’s and someone did knock on the door, sprayed me in the face with CS gas. They had a canister of petrol or gasoline and he was trying to burn the place down. Then he pulled out a lump hammer and I kind of fought him off, chased him out the house.
‘We found out later by the police when they investigated forensics came round. He’d climbed in through the window earlier that day and disconnected my phone line. I was trying to call the police and he was just kind of watching me and then when he was convinced that I was actually talking to someone, he dropped the petrol or the gasoline and pulled out a lump hammer and then came over towards me.

In 2021, Bisping revealed that in his younger years he had survived an attempt on his life from a man who had entered his apartment one summer’s night in late 1990s
‘I didn’t know who it was, the police never caught him. I had my theories at the time because I’d had a few little skirmishes but no solid evidence. Now, almost 20 years later, some serial killer is in prison apparently saying it was him.
‘Apparently it’s a YouTube channel on true crime called That Chapter. If you know anything about this let me know because I’m dying to know more. I’m going to do a YouTube video breaking it all down.
‘Apparently he’s a notorious killer, the Hammer Killer from the north west of England, so a bit of a mad one.’
‘What do you know about this Chapter and the guy who tried to kill me, because if you know who he is I’m going to bloody kill him.’
Bisping competed in UFC from 2004 until 2017. During his career he held the UFC middleweight title and the Cage Rage light heavyweight title, while he also won the light heavyweight tournament of The Ultimate Fighter 3.
