Triple M has shut down reports that they are preparing to axe Beau Ryan’s struggling breakfast show, seven months after it launched.
The Beau, Cat & Woodsy Show, also starring Aaron Woods and Cat Lynch, has undergone several shake-ups since hitting the airwaves in January.
Just six weeks into the program, newsreader Natarsha Belling dramatically quit the show, with former Nova presenter Lynch swiftly appointed as her replacement.
But despite the revamp, the Sydney breakfast slot has continued to underperform in the ratings – and executives were reportedly planning to pull the pin, according to The Australian‘s Media Diary.
The publication reported that the network was lining up veteran comedian and Triple M favourite Merrick Watts to take over in a bid to attract more listeners, after the presenter previously filled in for Beau in March, while Beau was away filming Channel Ten‘s The Amazing Race.
Watts, 51, is no stranger to the station’s audience, having previously fronted a hugely popular drive show for several years.

Media Diary claimed that in a surprising twist, the network reportedly wanted to reunite him with his long-time comedy partner Tim Ross, from whom he split in 2009 after leaving Nova’s Merrick and Rosso, and from whom he is said to be estranged – a move that could prove tricky behind the scenes.
However, after being contacted by the Daily Mail, an SCA spokesperson denied claims of any changes being made to Triple M’s breakfast lineup.
‘Speculation about changes to the Triple M Sydney Breakfast lineup is categorically false,’ they said.
‘Triple M is fully committed to Beau, Cat & Woodsy.’
They also noted that the network ‘has one of the most consistent lineups of live and local breakfast shows across Australia’s metro markets.’
The spokesperson further denied any rumours of Merrick and Rosso joining Triple M.
It follows reports that Triple M suffered a brutal blow in the third radio ratings survey of 2025.
In June, a survey showed that Beau Ryan, Aaron ‘Woodsy’ Woods and Cat Lynch’s Sydney breakfast show continued to lose listeners.

The trio, who lost 1.5 per cent of the market share in survey two, dropped another 1.5 in the latest survey, bringing them down to a market share of 4.4 from a previous 5.9.
It was one of many hits Triple M took, as the station suffered a decline across all Sydney timeslots.
In February, former Triple M star Natarsha Belling, 54, announced she was leaving her new breakfast radio show with co-hosts Beau and Woodsy just six weeks after it launched.
The presenter wished her colleagues all the best in her shock statement and revealed she was offered another job with LiSTNER podcast, The Briefing.
‘Thrilled to announce I’ve been offered an amazing new opportunity to join the team @thebriefingpodcast for the Afternoon edition,’ she wrote on Instagram.
The program was announced at the end of last year and has only been on the air since January 20.
Natarsha’s sudden exit from Triple M came just a week after veteran presenter Marty Sheargold, 53, was sensationally axed following comments he made about the Matildas in February.
Triple M faced an advertiser boycott, which threatened to cost the radio station an eye-watering amount of cash in the wake of his ‘sexist and disgusting’ rant.
Following the Matildas’ recent loss tothe USA, Marty told listeners ‘there’s something wrong with the Matildas’ before he compared the team’s attitude to ‘Year 10 girls’.
