The devastated loved ones of a boy who suffered a skull fracture and severe injuries at school are demanding answers about what happened to him.
August Borden was critically injured at Deshler High School in Alabama on Tuesday afternoon, requiring CPR before he was airlifted to hospital.
The freshman football player sustained multiple skull fractures and facial fractures during the ordeal, and was unconscious in the hospital for two days.
But his family still have few answers about what exactly caused such severe injuries, KBTX reported.
In a Facebook post describing August’s injuries, his mother and stepfather wrote: ‘We still have no real details of the incident and would just like answers.’
When the post went viral and sparked fury about the school failing to share key details, they added: ‘I wasn’t trying to start a revolution, I just wanted to get answers as any parent would.’
While August is now safely back at home and recovering, his biological father Jason Borden has contacted police as he seeks more information about how his son suffered such serious injuries.

Borden was initially told his son fell down stairs at the school, but others have said August was attacked by another student.
Tuscumbia police have launched an investigation but have not yet been able to speak with the teenager due to his injuries.
‘As soon as we can talk to him, it will clarify a lot,’ Tuscumbia Police Chief Tony Logan said.
Without statements from August, there is no other evidence pointing to a crime at this stage.
Tuscumbia Mayor William Foster said: ‘The initial report was the injury was due to a fall, CPR was in progress, and the child was having a seizure. A helicopter was called in for air evacuation.
‘August’s recollection of the events is scant at best. He describes Tuesday as a blackout.
‘We are determined to get to the bottom of this case. The initial 911 call was a medical call. It was not a criminal call.

‘The initial report was that August fell. Some have said he fell off the bleachers, some say down some stairs in a building, some have said he fell down some stairs outside a building.
‘As you can see, there are a lot of different stories, and the stories differ even within those who were there when August got hurt.’
August’s medical team have told his family he is expected to have full brain function again within two weeks.
‘He still has a few trips back to UAB for the facial fractures once the swelling subsides,’ his parents said.
