Marks & Spencer has launched a social media campaign to target young men. It is looking to woo 18 to 34-year-olds through celebrities sharing style advice.
Stars including TV and radio presenter Mark Wright, reality TV’s Spencer Matthews, football pundit Ian Wright and presenter Vernon Kay will appear on social media brand ‘M&S Man’ as the retailer recovers from a cyber-attack in April.
Content will feature singer Olly Murs and DJ Melvin Odoom as it seeks to increase its 10.4 per cent menswear market share.
A weekly YouTube series will be hosted by stylist Melissa Holdbrook-Akposoe alongside Capital Breakfast presenters Chris Stark, Jordan North and Sian Welby.
Mitch Hughes, the director of menswear, said: ‘We are building our authority as a modern voice in men’s style. M&S Man gives us the opportunity to inspire and reach a new generation.’
After the cyber-criminal attack, M&S expects a £300million dent to profits this year.
