A teenager has been identified as the person involved in the car crash that seriously injured Rudy Giuliani in New Hampshire.
Lauren Kemp, 19, was driving the Honda HR-V that struck the car that the former New York City mayor was traveling in on Saturday evening.
The teen girl, from Concord, hit the rear end of 81-year-old Giuliani’s Ford Bronco.
Giuliani fractured his vertebrae and had multiple lacerations and contusions after his rental car was hit from behind, according to his spokesman Michael Ragusa.
The former mayor had injuries on his left arm and lower leg.
‘Mayor Giuliani was flagged down by a woman who was a victim of domestic violence prior to the accident,’ Ragusa said in a statement.
The former prosecutor had called 911 for the woman and waited for officers to arrive on the scene. ‘He rendered assistance and contacted 911, remaining on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,’ Ragusa added.
However, as Giuliani pulled out onto the highway he was hit at high speed by another vehicle – driven by Kemp.

Ragusa says Giuliani was transferred to a nearby trauma center, and is recovering from his injuries.
‘Mayor Giuliani is in great spirits following the incident. He is fully alert and conscious, and his medical team is pleased with his progress,’ Ragusa told the Daily Mail.
Giuliani will remain in the Manchester-area hospital for a few more days. His spokesman noted he will wear a brace for the broken vertebrae following his release.
‘The Mayor is eager to return to his work and looks forward to getting back to business in just a few days.’
The spokesman added: ‘He and his family are grateful for the outpouring of prayers and support, and he asks everyone to continue respecting his privacy as he focuses on recovery.’
Giuliani has a political career that spans over four decades in the New York City and national political scene
Giuliani gained fame in the 1980s as a federal prosecutor after he successfully put the top mafia bosses of New York in prison for RICO charges.
He was later elected mayor in 1994 and helped lead the city through the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack.
After leaving the mayor’s office, Giuliani became a close adviser to President Donald Trump during his first term.
