Kavana has revealed he was slapped with a lifetime ban from Loose Women after turning up drunk and disappearing to the pub minutes before going live on air.
The 90s pop singer – who scored a Top Ten hit in 1997 with I Can Make You Feel Good – opened up about the incident in his explosive autobiography, which he released earlier this year.
Titled Pop Scars, Kavana, 47, whose real name is Anthony Kavanagh, opened up about his struggles with alcohol.
In one extract, he explained that ahead of his 2007 Loose Women appearance he was drinking in his dressing room, then slipped across the road to the pub, leaving ITV staff frantically searching for him just minutes before he was due on air.
When he did reappear, he was disruptive backstage and on set, leaving producers horrified with an X-rated remark he made to presenter Carol McGiffin.
In his book he admitted: ‘I can’t remember much of my ‘performance’ on Loose Women apart from the odd flashback, which every time one comes I slug a mouthful of beer at the harrowing thought.’

The singer said his agent later broke the news that ITV bosses had lost patience, giving him a lifetime ban and telling him: ‘you can never go on again.’
Things didn’t end there, as Kavana recalled how his agent didn’t hold back in letting him know what happened when he sat on the panel, saying: ‘You asked Carol McGiffin live on air when was the last time she had sex, and you were described as being loud and unhinged backstage, asking for wine and demanding everyone join you in the pub after the show.’
Kavana later confessed he had to be escorted off the premises and into a car after the show.
He wrote how his agent said: ‘You then had to be escorted off the premises and helped into the car by the driver, who by the way nearly didn’t agree to take you, due to you being so drunk.
‘You then insisted he reroute the booking and take you all the way to Soho and drop you there.’
The Daily Mail has contacted ITV for comment.
