Britney Spears‘ ties with her family remain fractured, nearly three years after a court terminated her 13-year conservatorship.
Insiders have painted a complicated picture of where she stands with her parents, Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, and siblings, Jamie Lynn and Bryan.
On Thursday, multiple sources confirmed the pop star’s relationship with her father is virtually beyond repair.
‘Britney’s relationship with her dad is nonexistent,’ one source explained. ‘There’s no chance of reconciliation.’
A second insider went further, revealing: ‘There’s zero communication on either side, and that’s how she likes it. Furious doesn’t even begin to cover how she feels about him and what he did to her. She’ll never forgive him.’
Meanwhile, Jamie is said to have ‘accepted’ their estrangement and to be living a ‘quiet life now.’
‘With the conservatorship over, the only stress in his life now is his health,’ the source explained.

Yet another source offered a slightly different perspective, noting Britney ‘still loves her dad,’ and even ‘offered to pay for his healthcare and find the best doctors’ when he underwent a leg amputation in late 2023 following a severe infection.
While Jamie insisted his control of her finances, career and personal liberties during her her conservatorship was to protect her wellbeing, Britney claimed it was ‘abusive’ and likened her situation to being a ‘sex trafficking victim.’
Things with her mother also remain complicated.
One insider described the connection as ‘very fragile,’ saying: ‘[Lynne] reaches out to Britney for the most part. They talk and text every few weeks. [There are] no plans for [her] mom to visit anytime soon.’
A second source explained how delicate the situation is: ‘[Britney] and her mom still have highs and lows. One day they’re working on their relationship, the next they won’t speak for weeks.’
Lynne reportedly tries to ‘treat the situation with as much care as possible, but she also doesn’t want to sit back and do nothing.’
‘She’d love more than anything to be close with Britney again,’ the insider explained. ‘They used to be best friends. Lynne understands Britney is still hurt and traumatized by the conservatorship, but she hopes one day they can focus on the future and not the past.’
Still, a third insider pointed out that Britney ‘knows her mom is a great woman and loves her dearly.’

After a highly publicized 2022 rift sparked by Jamie Lynn’s memoir, Things I Should Have Said, the sisters have been quietly working on reconciliation.
‘Britney and Jamie Lynn are doing better, and they’re planning on getting together soon,’ one source shared. ‘The girls decided to keep their relationship problems out of the public eye. They FaceTime every few weeks, and Jamie Lynn is planning on visiting Britney next month in L.A.’
Another insider added: ‘They really love one another, but they can be hardheaded siblings.’
Of all her relatives, Britney is said to be closest to her brother, Bryan, 48.
He moved in with her following her split from Sam Asghari in August 2023, and the two have enjoyed several trips together in the past year.
‘Britney and Bryan are still close,’ the first source confirmed. ‘He stays out of her issues with the rest of the family.’

Over the summer, he visited his mom again in California.

‘Jayden is spending time back in California but does not live with Britney,’ the source also said. ‘All of his friends are still in California and he wanted to come back after graduating high school. Jayden reached out to Britney and initiated conversation.’
The insider continued: ‘He is open to mending the relationship with his mom and seeing where things go. It’s going to take time and will not be an immediate reconciliation. They have seen each other twice and [it] was very brief.’
The source also said that Spears is hopeful Jayden’s brother, Sean Preston, will aso want to connect in the near future.
‘Britney was very excited to hear from him. She hopes they can continue to spend time together and hopes Preston also comes around,’ the source claimed. ‘She has had a hole in her heart from not seeing her boys. Jayden reaching out means everything to her.’
