The alleged assassin of conservative activist Charlie Kirk ‘lived with a transgender partner’, it was claimed last night.
Father-of-two Mr Kirk, 31, was gunned down on Wednesday as he answered a question about transgender gun violence in front of a 3,000-strong crowd at Utah Valley University.
Last night, multiple media outlets in the US claimed Tyler Robinson, 22, the student who was arrested over Mr Kirk’s murder, was living with a partner who was ‘transitioning from male to female’.
The partner – who shared a three-bedroom apartment with Robinson in Utah – is said to be ‘fully co-operating’ with the FBI.
The room-mate is understood to have handed over text messages allegedly sent by Robinson after the killing, apparently saying where to retrieve the rifle used in the assassination after it was left in a wooded area.
A source told Fox News: ‘The shooter was living with a transgender man who was transitioning from male to female.
‘The status of their relationship isn’t known. They were friends who enjoyed playing video games together.
‘The transgender individual is co-operating fully with police and is not considered a suspect.’

The room-mate’s grandfather refused to confirm multiple reports that there was a transgender motive to Mr Kirk’s killing, telling the Daily Mail: ‘I don’t want to comment on that.’
Last night’s developments came after Mr Kirk’s widow Erika, 36, delivered a tearful speech honouring him as ‘the perfect husband and father’.
She addressed millions of people across the US in a live TV address on Friday night, saying: ‘My husband laid down his life for me, for our nation, for our children.
‘The evildoers responsible for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done.
‘You have no idea the fire you have ignited within his wife. The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.’
In the UK, the Oxford Union said its incoming president, George Abaraonye, 20, will face disciplinary proceedings after he reportedly wrote in a WhatsApp chat with students: ‘Charlie Kirk got shot, let’s f***ing go.’
