Nicole Kidman has revealed filming has wrapped on Practical Magic 2, as she shared a sweet behind-the-scenes video with co-star Sandra Bullock on Saturday.
The pair previously starred alongside each other in the hit 1998 film adaptation, which is based on the novel of the same name by Alice Hoffman, about two witch sisters and their spellbinding adventures.
After sharing a first glimpse at their scenes together back in July, Nicole confirmed on Instagram that she and Sandra had finished work on the film.
The video shows the two stars embracing and laughing as they skip together in the field during sunset.
It also featured a snippet of Crystal, Stevie Nicks‘ re-recorded version of the Buckingham Nicks track that featured on the soundtrack for the original 1998 film.
Nicole captioned her post: ‘That’s a wrap on #PracticalMagic2! Thank you to the cast & crew for all your magic.’

This comes weeks after the stars shared an update for the supernatural sequel, which is set to be released in 2026 — while one of the movie’s major stars revealed that she would not be reprising her role.
Kidman and Bullock are reprising their roles as sisters Gillian and Sally Owens, respectively, who descend from a long line of witches.
In the 1998 original film adaptation, the two sisters harness their powers to fight off a curse that kills the men they fall in love with.
Plot details for the second film have not yet been revealed, but early reports say that the story will be based on a later installment in the author’s Practical Magic book series.
In the upcoming sequel, Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing will also be returning to reprise their roles as Aunt Jet and Aunt Frances ‘Fran’ Owens, respectively.
The star-studded cast also includes newcomers Lee Pace of Bodies Bodies Bodies fame as well as former child star Joey King.
Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones will also be joining the cast alongside Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod.
Meanwhile, one of the original stars, Evan Rachel Wood, would not be joining them for the follow-up and recently clarified why fans shouldn’t expect to see her in the sequel.
The Westworld star announced in an Instagram Stories post that it wasn’t her choice not to reprise her role as Kylie Owens, the oldest daughter of Sally Owens (Bullock).

After sharing a first glimpse at their scenes together back in July, Nicole confirmed on Instagram that she and Sandra had finished work on the film
‘I am getting asked about this a lot, so l’ll just clear it up now; I was not asked to come back and be in the #PracticalMagic sequel,’ Wood shared in a text post. ‘l offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line.’
‘I was told they are re-casting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans,’ she continued. ‘It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters.’
In the film, Wood’s character Kylie and her younger sister Antonia (Alexandra Artrip) go to live with their aunts (played by Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest) after their father dies.
He’s believed to be the victim of a curse set on the family of witches that targets any man that the women in the family fall in love with.
But things become complicated for Kylie’s mother after she falls in love with a new man (played by Aidan Quinn), while Kidman’s character has to battle an abusive boyfriend who tries to retain control of her from beyond the grave.
Earlier this year, Kidman said that she and Bullock were already anticipating making a sequel one day when they filmed the first movie 26 years ago.
‘When we were making it, we definitely did,’ she told Variety when asked about whether they thought they would make a follow-up in the past.
‘We’re so excited. Yes, yes, beyond excited. You heard our spell. We put out our spell already.’
The filmmaking team behind the upcoming sequel, which includes director Susanne Bier, said in a statement: ‘Twenty-five years ago, Sally, Gillian, Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny flew off the pages of Alice Hoffman’s beloved novel and into theaters around the world, and we are thrilled to bring the Owens family back to the big screen with Joey, Lee, Maisie, Solly and Xolo joining the next chapter in our story.
Though the production has just kicked off, a release date has already been revealed.
Practical Magic 2 is set to premiere on September 18, 2026.
