This is the stomach-churning moment a doctor removed a live crab from a boy’s ear after he felt something wriggling in his head following a trip to the beach in Mexico.
Kitzia Mitre said a ‘new fear was unlocked’ after the crustacean emerged from her son Pedro’s lughole.
They had just visited the beach when he started to complain of discomfort. The influencer, who is also a fashion designer took Pedro to a local health centre.
After investigating, doctors discovered the baby crab had burrowed in the boy’s ear.
Pedro asked his mother to film as a health practitioner removing the crustacean.
The video showed tearful Pedro holding his mother’s hand as the doctor conducted the extraction with one hand while holding his head in place with the other.
He asked his mother: ‘Am I going to go blind?’ She assured him that he wouldn’t.
After the the small creature was taken out, it was seen still alive and wandering across the stretcher.
The Mexican influencer, who runs the YouTube channel Travelling with Kitzia Mitre, said: ‘A new fear unlocked… A crab got into Pedro’s ear… it’s highly unlikely that something like that would happen, but it did.’
She joked: ‘No crabs were harmed in the recording of this video.

The video quickly went viral, with social media users sharing their own encounters of creatures creeping into their bodies.
One said: ‘A cockroach got into my ear once, it was horrible, you feel it when it moves, and it’s super painful and annoying.’
Pedro’s ordeal may sound like a freak accident but similar incidents of strange creatures inside people’s bodies have been reported.
In Australia in 2014, Hendrik Helmer woke in agony when an inch-long cockroach burrowed deep in his ear, describing the pain as ‘excruciating’ before doctors pulled it out.
The previous year in Arkansas, teenager Grant Botti discovered a 4-inch centipede inside his ear. He managed to remove it himself after waking up with severe pain. He suffered scratches on his eardrum.
In Guangzhou, China, a man needed surgery after doctors found a live gecko had crawled into his ear canal while he slept.
In another case in China, a woman went to hospital after feeling a crawling sensation and medics found a tiny spider and its shed exoskeleton moving inside her ear.
