Vladimir Putin invited a 17-year-old who posed in an erotic calendar to his residence once a fortnight before she mysteriously came to own a luxury apartment in an exclusive Moscow district, according to a new book.
The explosive claims appear in ‘The Tsar in Person: How Vladimir Putin Fooled Us All’ by journalists Roman Badanin and Mikhail Rubin, who reveal all about the Russian president’s illicit affair with the teenage beauty queen.
The Russian dictator was 58 when he first stumbled across Alisa Kharcheva, a teenager from the Moscow suburb of Korolev who had participated in small beauty pageants.
She caught Putin’s eye when she starred as the April girl in a pin-up erotic calendar created for his 58th birthday – when he was prime minister and Dmitry Medvedev was officially Russian president.
The 2010 calendar, which featured young woman posing suggestively in lingerie, was printed 50,000 times and sold in Russia for around six euros.
It was dubbed propaganda by Putin’s critics, who suggested it was used to boost his voter appeal ahead of the 2012 presidential election which saw him return to the top role.
According to new revelations, Putin, now 72, didn’t just receive the calendar but also acquired the contact details of all the young women featured inside.
Sources close to Alisa said that one of Putin’s close aides invited the teenager to his residence in Moscow, following her appearance in the intimate birthday present.
After their initial meeting, she was brought back to Putin once every two weeks for more than a year – during a period when the politician was still with his ex-wife, Lyudmila Ocheretnaya.

Alisa Kharcheva, now 32, is said to have become Vladimir Putin’s secret girlfriend at the age of 17

‘Alisa enjoyed this; she felt grateful to have been introduced to the president,’ a source told the journalists.
The calendar was created by a group of students and would-be students from Moscow State University.
Each erotic photo was accompanied by a suggestive slogan to the president, with Alisa’s personalised message reading: ‘Vladimir Vladimirovich, you are the best!’
In 2011, Alisa enrolled at one of the most prestigious Russian universities – the Moscow Institute of International Relations – known for training future diplomats.
That same year, she boosted her popularity when she got to the final of ‘Miss Russia’.
In 2012, to celebrate his 60th birthday, Alisa posed with the kitten and a photograph of the president in a personal blog post entitled ‘Pussy for Putin’, which extolled the president’s leadership.
The blog post, which has since been deleted, said: ‘I think he [Putin] is a fantastic man, a strong leader and an ideal head of the country.’
Eyebrows were raised when it was revealed a few years later that Alisa was living the high life in an glitzy apartment inside a gated complex in one of Moscow’s most exclusive districts.
Exactly how she afforded such an address is up for debate – but an investigation traced it back to one of Putin’s most trusted associates.

Kharcheva was later admitted as a student to Russia’s top university

Alina Kabaeva (right) is believed to be the longtime partner of President Putin, though has lived a reclusive life for years. Neither have ever acknowledged the alleged relationship

Alisa is one of four women Grigory Baevsky, a little-known Russian businessman from St Petersburg, has provided property for in the last few years, according to Reuters.
The first two are Anna Zatsepilina and Leysan Kabaeva, the grandmother and sister of Alina Kabaeva, the Olympics gymnast champion rumoured to be Putin’s long-term girlfriend.
The third is Katerina Tikhonova, the notoriously private youngest daughter of Putin.
And then there is Alisa who, on paper, has the weakest link to the Russian president.
Of the calendar, Alisa, now 32, told Sobesednik newspaper:
‘It was done as a present for Putin’s 58th birthday. Some time later, via his press-secretary, he expressed his opinion that he liked the calendar very much.
‘We were glad to hear it. It means our present was a success. I have always thought it and I think it now that it is hard to imagine the better leader for a country.
‘I like his attitude to his job, I like his sense of humour. He is an ordinary man, just like me and you,’ she added.
Exactly why his close associate Baevsky would have signed over a flat to this young woman remains shrouded in mystery.

Alisa swatted off the suggestion her devotion to the president has resulted in anything more than column inches in the press
Leading Putin opponent Alexey Navalny said: ‘I got the impression that the authors of this investigation give a slight hint that Lady Alisa is linked to Putin via spending time together and other personal relations.’
However, Alisa swatted off the suggestion her devotion to the president has resulted in anything more than column inches in the press.
Asked how she came to buy a flat from Baevsky, Alisa said the transaction was a normal one conducted through a real estate and that she did not know the businessman.
‘We bought this flat with a mortgage,’ she insisted. ‘And we pay that mortgage to this day.’
Asked if any connection to Putin had helped her obtain the flat from Baevsky, she replied: ‘No one has ever asked me such stupid questions.’
But public records show Baevsky – who has worked as an aide to another close friend of Putin, his judo partner, Arkady Rotenberg – sold or transferred the properties to three of the women, Alisa, and both his ex-gymnast girlfriend’s relatives.
Anna, Alina’s grandmother, bought her home within a gated community in millionaire’s paradise Uspenskoe, from Baevsky.
The home is protected by security guards, who denied access to Reuters and declined to help contact any of its residents.
In 2009, public records show that Baevsky transferred ownership of an apartment in Veresaeva Street in the Moscow suburbs to Leysan, Alina’s sister.
Asked about how she came to acquire the property from Baevsky, a spokeswoman for a company owned and run by Leysan declined to comment.
Meanwhile, Putin’s daughter Katerina used the address of a flat owned by Baevsky as her own when registering a new company.
