The 56-year-old actress had a hilarious reaction to her Morning Show co-star revealing her birth name.
When she began her acting career, the 49-year-old, who was born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon, decided to shorten the moniker to her mother’s maiden name.
Aniston was taken aback since they have been longtime friends since Witherspoon made a guest appearance on Friends in 2000 as her character’s sister.
The exchange between the two was captured on LADBible’s Do You Even Know Me? segment amid their promo tour for season four of their hit Apple TV+ series.
At one point, Witherspoon quizzed her co-star and reading out a question, she asked her: ‘What is my real middle name? A: Jane, B: Jean or C: Joan.’

When Aniston incorrectly guessed Jane, Witherspoon revealed that the answer should have been Jean.
She nonchalantly added: ‘It’s confusing. I’m Laura Jean.’
However, Aniston was shocked at the revelation of Witherspoon’s first name rather than middle name.
She exclaimed: ‘Laura Jean?’
She was further astonished when Witherspoon explained: ‘That’s my real name. Yeah.’
‘Laura! Who’s Laura? Who the hell’s Laura?’ Aniston added. ‘I’m not calling you that from now on! Where did Reese come from?’
Without missing a beat, Witherspoon explained: ‘It’s my middle name. I’m Laura Jean Reese.
Aniston later asked her castmate why she used Reese for her professional moniker, to which Witherspoon explained that she had always gone by the name.

The first episode of The Morning Show’s season four premiered on September 17 with following episodes released each Wednesday.
Ahead of the premiere, the Emmy-winning show has already been green-lit for a fifth season.
