A five-star hotel in Cyprus is offering a ‘sunshine guarantee’ and a free stay if holidaymakers get rained on.
Millions of tourists flock to the sunny island each year, for its 300 to 340 sunny days.
It also stays quite warm, and even in late November when Brits are usually bundled up in hats and scarves, temperatures top 25C in Cyprus before rising again in February.
The City of Dreams Mediterranean hotel, located in Limassol, now offers a ‘sunshine guarantee,’ for guests who don’t experience the best weather Cyprus has to offer.
‘With almost 340 days of sunshine, City of Dreams Mediterranean invites you to enjoy the perfect weather for your vacation, with our promise for the best weather possible,’ the hotel’s website states.
‘Warm weather and clear sunny skies are present almost all year round on the island.’
Holidaymakers who miss out on the sunshine can enjoy a free night the next time they stay.
The hotel continues, ‘To add even more value to your stay, we’re offering one complimentary night on your next visit for each day the sun doesn’t shine during your current stay.’

There are strict requirements guests will have to meet to be eligible for a free night.
‘Sunshine Guaranteed’ is defined clearly on the hotel’s website, and holidaymakers can claim their complimentary stay by filling out a submission form.
The City of Dreams Mediterranean hotel defines sunshine ‘as a day with at least 70% direct sunlight, between 9:00 and 17:00’.
Proprietary data on the measurement of sunlight each day will be used to determine how sunny it was.
The hotel intends to update the sunshine levels on a weather calendar each week.
‘We want to give our guests complete confidence when booking their trip,’ Grant Johnson, Senior Vice President and Property General Manager, told the Mirror.
He explained how holidaymakers will now be ‘rewarded’ if they experience a lack of sun during their stay.
‘With the Sunshine Guarantee, they know they’ll enjoy the famous weather here in Cyprus and if not, they’ll be rewarded.

The hotel continues, ‘To add even more value to your stay, we’re offering one complimentary night on your next visit for each day the sun doesn’t shine during your current stay.’
‘Coupled with our new excursion programme, it’s the perfect time to explore everything the island has to offer.’
The hotel promises ‘world-class suites and luxurious accommodation’ and boasts 500 rooms.
It also features plenty of entertainment options including a family adventure park and an outdoor amphitheatre.
It also has a wide range of dining options, as well as a casino.
