Jake Quickenden has undergone his third hair transplant.
The singer, 37, candidly revealed that he was ‘freaking out’ over his thinning locks in an Instagram clip posted on Monday.
In the video, he debuted a shaved head with a bandage wrapped around his forehead while sitting in his bathroom.
Speaking to his followers, Jake opened up about the whole procedure and his reasons for having it again.
He said: ‘Hello, I thought I’d pop on and talk hair transplants. Look, if you’re a guy and you’re losing your hair, it might not seem like a huge issue or a big deal, but believe me, as a man who has gone through hair loss, it is.
‘You find yourself checking out how many hairs are on your pillow, you run your hands through your hair at night and you get hairs in your hands, and you start freaking out.

‘This is my third hair transplant, I thought I’d be brutally honest, and just talk about it, why not.
‘So, first one, I had my hairline done. The second one was a scar cover-up. Today I’ve had my hairline where I was reseeding behind my hair transplant and my fryer tuck because I was getting a bit of an egg in a nest.
‘I’m so glad I’ve had it done. It’s really quick, really simple. I was only there for six and a half hours.
‘Price obviously ranges by how many grafts you’ve had. I had 1,700 today, which doesn’t seem like a lot, but I’m hoping in a few months, a full mane.
‘I do quite like the skin-head, I’m not going to lie. I think the main question I get is, “Does it hurt?”
‘So the hair transplant itself doesn’t, because you have anaesthetic, the injections for that, if you’ve had a hair transplant, I’m not going to lie to you, they are probably the closest thing a man can get to childbirth.
‘They are unbearably painful. But it lasts five minutes, and then your head’s normal, and they do your hair transplant.
‘So they take hair from the back and make incisions in the front where you’re having it, then they pop those hairs in.

‘It’s as simple as that, I was there six and a half hours. Maintenance afterwards, I’ve got to sleep in this [showed a neck pillow].
‘You’ve got to sleep sat up for like 10 days. Can’t go to the gym for a couple of weeks, which is going to be super hard. You can’t wash your hair for five days.
‘So there are bits and bobs you can’t do afterwards, but it’s not major. If you don’t want to get a hair transplant, there are loads of other options.
‘There’s hair pieces, I wore the hair fibers for ages, but I would forget them all the time, then I would be freaking out that everyone was looking at the top of my head thinking I was bald, when I was probably the only person to notice it.’
He continued: ‘I’m not embarrassed to get a hair transplant, I quite like the shaved head though. So I’m just worried I’m going to keep a skinhead now.’
Looking at himself in the camera reflection, he finished off by joking: ‘Oh my goodness, my head looks like a hot air balloon.’
Jake underwent his first hair transplant in 2017, after spending £5,000 on the procedure.
At the time, he explained that he’d felt insecure with his hairline before.

Sharing a snap of his hairline on Instagram, he penned: ‘So just incase anyone sees me and thinks it’s Frankenstein, I’ve sorted my hairline out after years of insecurities, people might say your hair was fine and didn’t need it, but after years of being really worried about losing my hair, I took the dive and did something about it!
‘I did my research and found @kslhairltd they were great, professional and really put me at ease and I am delighted with how it has turned out!
‘Swelling and redness will go down after a week and then just get on with day to day life and wait for the results!!
He continued: ‘My old man was bald and it suited him, I shaved my head and I looked like a peanut M&M, so unfortunately I don’t suit a skin head…. anyone got any questions just drop me an inbox….
‘ I will take any stick anyone wants to give me aswell, because honesty I’m buzzing and couldn’t care less about negative comments !! Peace [sic].’
Speaking to The Sun, Jake also admitted he decided to have the surgery as he didn’t want to marry partner Danielle Fogarty with no hair, and used to create the illusion of a fuller mane with a hair paint spray.
He admitted: ‘If I was going out and I didn’t have my spray on me I’d get really paranoid that someone was going to say, “God, you’re going bald”.
‘This had to be done — I want to get married with hair.’
