A 65-year-old woman was choked to death by her car window after accidentally pressing the close button while leaning through the door.
The tragic accident happened on June 13 in Bissy-sur-Fley, in France‘s Saône-et-Loire department, where the woman lived.
According to Franceinfo, her Fiat 500 began rolling backwards after she forgot to apply the handbrake.
As she reached through the open window to pull it, she inadvertently pressed the electric window switch, trapping her neck between the glass and the car frame.
A friend later found her body after she failed to show up for dinner.
Her brother told Franceinfo: ‘At first, even the police were confused. They were really asking, ‘What the hell happened?’ I didn’t understand it either.
‘When they called me to tell me, I was in denial. I told myself all sorts of things – that someone had attacked her, that she had taken her own life.
‘Then, little by little, I understood.’

Police have since ruled the death a tragic accident. An autopsy found no evidence of foul play.
The woman’s brother said he does not intend to seek compensation but has written to Fiat asking for clarification.
‘I don’t want money – that won’t bring my sister back,’ he said.
‘I just want to know how we can prevent this from happening again.’
It comes as just days ago a mother was charged with murder after her seven-year-old son was found dead with his head hanging out of a car window, police have said.
Mazi Simmons from Milledgeville was found unresponsive in the car in southwest Atlanta, Georgia, on April 6.
The little boy’s mother, Kandice Grace, was discovered by police unconscious and under the influence of narcotics in the car’s passenger seat.
The 32-year-old mom was arrested on a second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children charges on September 29.
Investigators said Mazi was found in the back seat of the vehicle with his head caught in a closing window, according to an arrest warrant obtained by 11Alive.
Two of Grace’s other children were also found in the car but were unharmed.
Investigators alleged that Grace left her children unattended after she passed out from drug use while driving.
Police reported that during an on-scene interview with the mother, she continuously lost consciousness while trying to hold her child.
