A major cruise line has announced its plans to launch its longest ever voyage – where passengers will take to the high seas and explore the Far East for more than four months.
P&O Cruises’ Epic World Explorer will take guests aboard its Arcadia ship on a 124-day adventure across Asia and beyond, with stops at more than 30 destinations.
The vessel, which can accommodate up to 2,094 guests and 866 crew members, is scheduled to depart Southampton on 6 January, 2028, where it will later return on 10 May that year.
Guests on the adults-only voyage will have the opportunity to sail to all four corners of the globe, featuring stops in Japan, South Korea, Thailand, San Francisco, Cape Verde, and Sydney in Australia.
Passengers have their pick of five different cabins on board, including inside, sea view, deluxe balcony, mini suite and suite.
The ‘inside’ cabin is the most basic, which features a bed, tea and coffee facilities and White Company toiletries, while mini suites have additional lounging area, a large bathroom and a dedicated butler service.
Onboard facilities include 15 bars and restaurants, five entertainment venues and two swimming pools.
Guests can tuck into steak and seafood at Marco Pierre White’s Ocean Grill, or indulge in decadent Indian and British dishes served at Sindhu.

One of the highlights of the trip includes a jam-packed stop in Japan, where passengers can experience an overnight stay in Tokyo (pictured), along with visits to Kagoshima and Nagasaki
For breakfast, The Belvedere offers an all-day buffet, while the Neptune Grill serves up hot dogs and traditional fish and chips for lunch.
Passengers can also enjoy live shows in the stylish ship’s three-tiered Palladium theatre, including performances like Magic Moments, which tells the story of Burt Bacharach’s music, as well as a magic show named Unbelievable.
For movie lovers, the vessel also boasts the Screening Room, a 30-seat cinema showing recent film releases.
Guests wanting to stay active during the cruise can take advantage of the ship’s fully-equipped gym, sports court, and complimentary fitness classes.
Group activities, like football, basketball, tennis, and cricket, are also available.
At the Monte Carlo Casino, guests can try their hand at boosting their fortune during the four-month excursion, with classic games like blackjack, roulette and poke available to play.
When it comes to nightlife, the ship doesn’t disappoint, with The Globe offering live music, game shows, and a ballroom with Latin dancing.
Luckily, for Brits missing their pints at the local boozer back home, The Rising Sun provides a traditional English pub experience – complete with karaoke, darts, a jukebox and live sports.
