Utah Jazz sophomore player Taylor Hendricks exited their 110-102 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Monday after a freak accident in the third quarter.
While running a fast break, the forward appeared to step wrong before collapsing on his right leg and failing to get up.
As Hendricks tried to get up, his lower right leg gruesomely bent sideways, which was captured clearly on the broadcast. Players on the court are seen immediately noticing the break and turning away in unison.
Medical staff tended to Hendricks before he was stretchered out of the court and play continued.
The Jazz later announced that Hendricks suffered a fractured right fibula and a dislocated ankle. After the game, the team added that updates on his status will be provided ‘when appropriate.’
