Paul Mullins, a former reporter for Channel 10 and longtime state political journalist, has died. He was 79.
Known to all as Mullos, Mullins was a prominent member of the NSW press gallery and highly respected as a formidable journalist by both politicians and colleagues.
Born in Sydney, Mullins began his career in newspapers before moving to television where he became Channel 10’s NSW state government reporter until his retirement.
10 News First presenter Sandra Sully paid tribute to the iconic journalist after having worked closely with him.
‘Paul was beloved in the 10 newsroom. He was the ultimate political roundsman – completely across his brief. Always thorough and always decent.
‘I was very fortunate to have worked closely with him for a couple of years. He took me under his wing when I first came to Sydney and could not have been more generous with his time and guidance.
‘He was a lovely man. Vale Paul.’
