Travis Kelce was involved in another furious sideline argument with his head coach Andy Reid as his on-field struggles continued against the New York Giants.
The pair clashed at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas 18 months ago and they once again came face to face – or, more accurately, chest to chest – at MetLife Stadium on Sunday night.
As Kelce walked off the field after another poor play, Reid could be seen screaming at him and rather than take it in his stride, the tight end instead gave it right back.
In a shocking moment, the 67-year-old then crashed into Kelce before they exchanged furious words between plays in New Jersey.
The incident was worryingly similar to the Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in February 2024, when Kelce bumped his coach and caused him to lose his footing.
In that meltdown, Kelce had to be held back by a teammate – but this time he was thankfully able to cool off without any assistance from the rest of the Chiefs roster.

The similarities were not lost on NBC announcer Mike Tirico, too, who commented: ‘We’ve seen them before, kind of get heated there. You can sense the frustration on both sides of that story.’
When the incident occurred in the first half, Kelce had just two catches for four yards – with the Chiefs having to settle for two field goals against the 0-2 New York Giants.
Things went from bad to worse shortly after when rookie Cam Skattebo scored his second NFL touchdown to level the score at 6-6, before the Chiefs managed to sneak a 9-6 lead at halftime.
Kansas City head coach Reid was interviewed by NBC as he made his way off the field to speak to his players, and he was quick to play down the incident with Kelce.
‘That’s okay, we need some juice… so that’s good!’ he said as replays of his showdown with the tight end were played to the millions of fans watching at home.
On social media, though, fans weren’t quite as positive about the remarkable incident, with one noting: ‘Man, you can feel this whole situation splitting at the seams, and it’s just a matter of time before all hell breaks loose. Kelce looks basically disinterested at this point.’
Another added: ‘This team might actually be done,’ while a third wrote: ‘KC is falling apart.’

It is not the first time Kelce and Reid have become embroiled in a furious sideline showdown

Last time, Kelce’s girlfriend – now fiancee – Taylor Swift was in the stands to watch it unfold
The Chiefs headed to New Jersey desperately hoping to turn their season around after back-to-back losses to start the campaign.
In the opener, Kelce and Co headed to Sao Paulo, where they were beaten by the Los Angeles Chargers, and then they lost to the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2 last weekend.
Unlike Kelce’s 2024 Super Bowl meltdown, he was not watched by Taylor Swift on Sunday night, with the pop superstar opting to skip the game amid recent safety concerns.
Swift turned up at Arrowhead behind what was believed to be a bulletproof screen last weekend, and this week she decided to skip the game entirely.
