Patrick Mahomes threw a disastrous pick six for the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night, with Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd returning the interception for a 99-yard touchdown.
Late in the third quarter at EverBank Stadium, Mahomes tried to find JuJu Smith-Schuster in the end zone on a 2nd-and-goal, only for Lloyd to pick him off at Jacksonville’s two-yard line.
The Jaguars defender then brushed off Travis Kelce and dodged out the way of a flying Mahomes as he desperately tried to stop him, before getting past Kareem Hunt and running almost 100 yards for a breathtaking touchdown.
The Chiefs quarterback was left visibly dejected after his rare error, which helped the hosts move 21-14 ahead before the fourth quarter.
It is only the sixth pick six he has thrown over the course of his stellar eight-year NFL career.
More to follow.
