Darius Rucker on Wednesday announced that he and girlfriend Emily Deahl have gotten engaged following a year of dating.
The 59-year-old musical artist took to Instagram with a shot of himself on one knee as he proposed to the 33-year-old social media influencer.
The Hootie & the Blowfish vocalist showed his gratitude toward his new fiancée for the bliss she’s brought into his world.
‘Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known,’ the Charleston, South Carolina native told his wife-to-be, who has nearly 500,000 TikTok followers.
Rucker – whose hits include Hold My Hand, Only Wanna Be with You and Let Her Cry – continued, ‘The day I met you I knew I didn’t want to go another one without you. Now I don’t have to.’
Rucker, a three-time Grammy-winner, was seen in a second picture embracing Deahl as she showed off the diamond engagement ring with gold band he presented her with.

Deahl reposted the shot of the proposal to her Instagram Stories, along with a caption explaining why she took a guarded stance toward sharing details of her romance with Rucker.
‘I never intended on keeping this part of my life from you guys for so long,’ Deahl said.
She added that ‘somewhere along the way of loving him I discovered how sacred love is to me.’
Deahl said that ‘all [she] wanted to do was protect’ the relationship, adding that she was relieved she would no longer have to photoshop him out of their pictures.
Rucker went public with the romance in a September 9 social media post in which he posed alongside Deahl during a trip to Las Vegas.
‘Wizard of Oz at @spherevegas with my love & my boys. 1000/10!!!!!’ he said.
Rucker received a slew of kind words from friends and fans in the comment section – including superstar songstress Miranda Lambert, who said, ‘Congrats!’
Singer Parson James said, ‘Yayyyyy. Pub drinks in London to celebrate soooon! Congrats my angel x.’

Deahl has past alluded to the age gap between her and the musician on her Instagram account.
In a clip she posted in September while she and Rucker attended a Lady Gaga show, Deahl noted how many people she overheard gossiping about them.
‘When I’m running from the comments and then I see them say “she’s gotta be in her 20s,”‘ she said. ‘My frontal lobe has been fully developed for many years but thanks guys.’
Rucker is father to three children: daughter Carolyn, 30, with ex Elizabeth Ann Phillips; and daughter Daniella, 24, and son Jack, 20, with ex-wife Beth Leonard, who he was wed to from 2000 until 2020.
He said of their union in his 2024 memoir Life’s Too Short, ‘Beth and I marry on December 9, 2000, on the beach in Bermuda.
‘In the end, we stay married for twenty years, a testament to her in every way: to her strength, her resolve, and her commitment to our kids and to me. Sadly, we uncouple in 2020.’

In 2023, the singer spoke about how he and his ex-wife were still on good terms years after their parting.
‘My 50-something self is a lot more forgiving than the mid-20-something self,’ Rucker told Today’s Country Radio With Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music.
Rucker added, ‘You have to, because life goes on. Your kids are still your kids, and you have a life, and you try to make the best of it.
‘Like I always say, [Beth’s] a saint, she’s an amazing human being, and she’s a great mom. And we get through life.’
