Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was seen slapping his Greece teammate’s head prior to their game on Saturday afternoon.
While the Bucks’ offseason has been centred around Giannis’ future and whether it lies in Milwaukee, the two-time NBA MVP has been focusing on EuroBasket.
Though the competition has not begun yet, warm-up games are underway and Antetokounmpo has been on hand to offer his support to his national side.
Though he didn’t partake in their game on Saturday, the Bucks star was seen in a huddle with his teammates before they went out on court.
However, in bizarre fashion, Antetokounmpo was seen violently smacking the head of his Greek teammate. Footage of the incident swiftly went viral on social media.
It remains unknown as to why the Bucks star hit his teammate so hard but it appeared as though the Antetokounmpo had grown frustrated with the teammate.

The two-time NBA MVP did not feature in the game but provided support on the day
Meanwhile, Greek national team head coach Vassilis Spanoulis recently confirmed that Antetokounmpo’s work with the team will begin this weekend.
‘He already had a training session with contact with some guys from our team. On Saturday, he will start training normally,’ Spanoulis said.
While Giannis offers his support to his national teammates, trade rumors surrounding his future in Milwaukee.
However, despite being urged to play in New York or Los Angeles, the Bucks star admitted last month that he’s ‘probably’ staying on the shores of Lake Michigan.
Speaking with a 20-year-old streamer known as ‘IShowSpeed,’ the 30-year-old former NBA champion was told that taxes in Los Angeles and New York were both extraordinarily high.
Upon hearing LA and New York, Antetokounmpo told the streamer that ‘a lot of people’ are trying to convince him to play in those two cities.

There have been question marks regarding Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee
The 6-foot-11 power forward can’t become a free agent until the summer of 2027, but he has been named in trade rumors over the last few months.
And given the Greek Freak’s uncertain future, IShowSpeed asked if he’ll be staying in Milwaukee.
‘Probably,’ Antetokounmpo said in his native Greece. ‘Probably. We’ll see. We’ll see. Probably. I love Milwaukee.’
He currently has at least two years on his contract but would be eligible next season to sign a four-year, $293 million extension with the Bucks or whichever team can manage to trade for the former league MVP.
