Disney films are often set in magical and enchanting locations that look almost too good to be true.
But it is possible to visit real-life versions of the captivating villages, castles and buildings.
From Princess Belle’s hometown to Tangled’s castle, there are plenty of places to explore.

Queen’s Castle, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
The Queen’s Castle is the home of the Evil Queen and Snow White before the princess leaves.
In the classic 1937 film, it looks like a typical fairy-tale castle with white turrets and beautiful surrounding scenery. The building is thought to be inspired by the Alcázar de Segovia, in Spain.
Just like the Queen’s Castle, the Alcázar is set on top of a rocky landscape and has the same enchanting feel with tall turrets.
What’s more, Rachel Zegler, who played Snow White in the new 2025 remake, performed Waiting On A Wish in front of Alcázar de Segovia.

Paradise Falls, Up
The 2009 Disney film Up follows the story of married couple Carl and Ellie try to save money in order to visit Paradise Falls – but they never manage to make it there together before Ellie passes away.
Some years later, Carl manages to make his house float with balloons and floats towards Paradise Falls to finally see it.
Fans of the film can also see Paradise Falls for themselves, as Up is thought to have taken inspiration from Angel Falls, in Venezuela.
The impressive waterfall stands 979 metres tall and is situated in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Canaima National Park.
Frozen
Frozen is a firm favourite for many fans and luckily, they can experience its magic in real life.
Arendelle is the main location for the film and is where Anna and Elsa are born.
The village is believed to be inspired by Hallstatt, in Austria, where visitors can find similar colourful buildings and characterful architecture.
Meanwhile, the palace chapel of the Kingdom of Arendelle, is thought to be based on St. Olaf’s Church, in Norway which boasts Viking-style features and wooden carvings.

Princess Belle’s village, Beauty and the Beast
While in Beauty and the Beast, Princess Belle can be seen frolicking around the fictional village of Villeneuve where she is originally from.
It is believed to be based on similar areas in the Alsace region of France, where plenty of characterful villages with cobbled streets and quirky houses can be found.
Portorosso, Luca
Portorosso is the main location that features in the Disney and Pixar film, Luca.
The small village is situated by the sea and boasts colourful buildings and a fountain in the centre.
Luca’s director, Enrico Casarosa, was born in Genoa, Italy, a port city in the Liguria region.
Cinque Terre is a coastal area located in the same region and is thought to be one of the locations that inspired Portorosso.
